The French chanson was a new sensation in the 16th Century, brimming with character and charm, these popular tunes quickly spread throughout all of Europe. From the vast collections of Pierre Attaingnant and Jacques Moderne, La Compañia presents a program of tantalising love songs and lively dance tunes, highly ornamented and spiced with improvisations, exploring the many flavours of the French Renaissance.

Christmas in New Spain

La Compañia unearths some of the most glorious and splendid music to celebrate Christmas spiced with the intoxicating rhythms of the New World. The cultural fusion from the colonisation of the Americas resulted in a truly remarkable and highly spirited music. With angelic voices in Baroque Cathedrals and Chapels throughout New Spain, this Aztec infused European music with African rhythms is a heavenly blend.
